It's hard to get to all the great activities for the wee ones.

Wagon ride through old Nauvoo.

We rented a house a little way from Nauvoo,
the kids really enjoyed the pool,
the parents enjoyed the space to relax
and the great view of the Mississippi.
We just had to adjust our minds to the ideas that we
were staying in someone else's house first.
It was strange at first, but we
got used to it.
Even the family pictures on the walls.

We were lucky to celebrate a bday with Grandpa Jex,
he made it just in time to do so.

4th of July festivities

Although it rained on us for a short time at the pageant. 
I was happy we were able to stick around
long enough to go and see it.
The only missing ingredients for this to have been a full-on
Jex Family Reunion, were the Jexes.
Next time, perhaps, if we can persuade them
to leave their island paradise. :)
